The Golden Age of Buda
The Golden Age of Buda, the fifteenth century, is best illustrated by the
buildings at Nos. 18-22 in
Országház utca. Many similar Gothic buildings lined
the streets at that time.
Proceeding southwards from Szentháromság tér, Nos.
14-16 in Tárnok utca offer a similar sight. An attentive visitor walking along
Úri utca, Fortuna utca and Disz tér will discover many other beautiful things,
medieval, Baroque and neo- Classic mansions. Gothic details can also be
discerned behind the more recent exteriors, since newly discovered remains have
been built into the buildings during their reconstruction.
